Exploring Ixtapa Zihuatanejo – Time to Relax !!! (Trip, Excursion, tour, from Mexico City)

Ixtapa Zihuatanejo is a perfect place to relax and to explore,
at only 7 to 8 hours driving from Mexico City. Paradise still exists !!

Hill top views over the bay of Ixtapa

Our most favorite hotel in Ixtapa is a bit up the hills, with swimming pools, very clean and spacious facilities, and amazing views over the bay from Ixtapa.

Exploring and relaxing at the beaches of Ixtapa

In a 10 minute scenic walk or 3 minute bus / taxi ride you are at some of the best beaches in Mexico, for example at the Blue Flag beach Playa el Palmar II. Behind the beaches you can find a colorful village center, with excelent restaurants and bars, that you can explore in a safe way at day and at night time.

Exploring and relaxing at Isla Ixtapa

One of our most favorite places to explore and relax is Isla Ixtapa, that you can visit on a short boat ride from Playa Linda. The Island has 4 different beaches that you can explore by beautiful walking paths, a natural reserve with endemic deer and excellent restaurants with some of the best (sea) food.

Exploring the Cocodrilario at Playa Linda

Afterwards you can have a quick stop at the Cocodrilario de Playa Linda, to see a small protected area with crocodiles, giant turtles and tropical birds.

Exploring Zihuatanejo

Another great place to explore is the nearby village of Zihuatanejo. It has a colorful center right at the beach, where you can try excellent Mezcal, fresh (sea) food and where you can have a great walk of about 30 minutes on it’s seaside promenate to Playa La Ropa. Another colorful village, a bit less turistic than Ixtapa, that is a fun and safe place to explore both during the day as at night.

Exploring and relaxing at Playa Las Gatas

From the harbour you can take another beautiful boat trip to Playa Las Gatas. Another great place to snorkel, dive, swim, relax and / or enjoying your favorite drinks and food.
