Do you feel like you need to get some fresh air, dive into clear water, rest under the palm trees and get a nice sun tan? Two hours south from Mexico City, this beautiful nature water park is just what you are looking for.
The crystal clear water comes from various springs and forms a wide river with a mild current. Lay down into the water and let yourself being taken through tropic green and tall palm trees.
How to get there?
It is a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from Mexico City to Las Estacas. Normally, the earlier you leave, the less traffic. It is still 45 to 60 minutes from Cuernavaca, so ideally you go by your own transport or take an organized tour from Mexico City.
Entrance Money; day trip or staying overnight?
You can easily enjoy all of Las Estacas in one day, but there are Camping, Glamping and different hotel options available inside Las Estacas, see their website for the different options and prices.
The entrance is steep; as per 30th of March 2019 the entrance, between 8.00 and 18.00, is 375 MXN by paying in cash or 395 MXN by paying with bank card. But the advantage is, that due this high price, the installations are well maintained, normally clean and that there are normally less people as for example Grutas de Tolantongo or other cheaper Balnearios / natural water parks. Try to go outside high season; in 2019 from February 2 to 4, from March 16 to 18, from April 13 to 28, from June 24 to August 18, from September 14 to 16, from November 16 to 18, and December holiday season.
What to do?
Apart from relaxing in the many green areas, having a swim in the crystal clear (but cold!) river, swimming in the different swimming pools and eating and drinking in it´s 2 restaurants and bar, you can:
Get your adreline shot by using the 5 zip lines
Take a snorkel or diving tour
Rent a kayak
Rent an inflatable boat
Take yoga clases
Take a massage or other spa threatments
Some of the activities are free, check out their activity board at the reception upon arrival.
